We have just received an information that the recent WRD World Professional Ballroom Championships bronze medalists and WDC European Professional Ballroom silver medalists Domen Krapez and Monica Nigro decided to terminate their long dancing partnership and start their separate careers with new partners. For close to twelve years, we have been a part of each other's lives. It all started in Italy, where we had our first swing together. As two young inexperienced dancers we wanted to make our dreams come true. We believed with all our hearts, soul and spirit that dancing was and would always be what we truly loved. We were prepared to make all the sacrifices to achieve our dreams of becoming as good dancers as possible. We did countless hours of practices together, danced hundreds of competitions and shows together, travelled who knows how many times around the globe, and shared so many unique emotions.
It has been a long and at times difficult journey, but we have been blessed with an amazing career, with so many successes, great emotions, but at the same time failures, hard work, struggles, and difficult decisions that only true dancers can understand.
2014 has been full of amazing highlights,our most successful competitive year together by finishing 3rd in WDC World Championship, 3rd in International and 2ndin the WDC European Championship and 4thin Blackpool. It filled us with joy, happiness and extraordinary sense of accomplishment for having been recognized as one of the best professional ballroom couples. But 2014 was also our last year of performing together. We will no longer be dancing together as we are starting our new stories on separate paths, Monica with Valerio Colantoni and Domen with Natascha Karabey. But we will continue to share our love, passion and dedication to dancing with all of you.
We would like to take this opportunity to express huge thanks and sincere gratitude to all the people who were part of our dancing life and career.
Thanks to our families who supported us unconditionally, to all our friends who stood by us through the good and bad times, to teachers for sharing their knowledge with us, believing in us and helping us to grow. We would also like to thank all the competitors who challenged us to become better dancers and for the great time that we had together on and off the floor, to all our students who believed in us, to all our sponsors Chrisanne, Freed of London, Brackleys and Lella Milano for their great work and collaboration. And, finally, thanks to all our fans for your love.
We would like to wish each other all the best for the future. We appreciate and will treasure in our hearts all the memories and experience we shared in our dancing lives. We always tried to show our emotions and passion for dancing and we hope that we left something beautiful and memorable to all of you.
