Alejandro Hernandez and Kerri Ann Donaldson decided to terminate their partnership. They danced in Professional Latin for England and were national silver-medalists. One of their best results include a final of the Professional Rising Star Latin at the International Championships last year and semi-final at the UK Open 2013 in the same category. See their results.

We have received a letter from Kerri Ann Donaldson which she asked us to publish. Here it is:

Its not Goodbye, Its See you soon...

After much thought and consideration I have decided that after 22 years of competing, now is the right time for me to take a break. Dancing has been my life for as long as I can remember and now for just a few months I would like to see what else life has to offer. It is with great sadness that due to my decision, Alejandro and I have decided as the best of friends, to end our partnership. We would like to express our thanks to all that helped us and guided us along the way.

We have had an amazing seven years together and have achieved so many goals, Finishing with a place in The British Team at the 2013 British Open Championships.

Alejandro would like to continue competing and will now look for a new partner, Someone who ultimately can give him what he needs to continue his journey.

Dancing will always run deep inside of me and have a big place in my heart. It has offered me so many opportunities, and taught me so much, not only about dancing, but also about life. I have been lucky enough to experience things that people can only dream about.

For the next few months I will be taking some time out. I would like to see the real colour of my skin, experience flat shoes, and have some money in my back pocket!

I am keeping my options open, and I am ready to find out what new doors will open for me in the future.

Alejandro and I walk away from our partnership still as the best of friends, only now with different goals. We would both like to continue learning, and still be a part of this amazing world.

We are both keen to become the best that we as individuals can be, whether that be through competing, or by passing the knowledge we have gained over the years, to others, through our teaching.

We will both continue to work in the UK, and we will be available for teaching, lecturing and adjudicating.

We wish each other the very best of luck, and once again would like to thank everybody from the bottom of our hearts, for all your help and support during our time together

Lastly the deepest thanks goes to my Family without whom I would never have been introduced to this wonderful world of dance, It was with their help that every step forward was a step closer to something bigger and better. Success can never be guaranteed and your journey towards it is never easy mistakes are made, and from these mistakes lessons are learnt. My family gave me my drive and determination to create my own dream, to see with my eyes but feel with my heart. They knew when to let me struggle to develop strength and always encouraged me to find the determination to win. Now they have given me a wonderful opportunity to start all over again, to start a new page.

So for this I will be eternally grateful.

My toughest critics but my biggest fans
Thank you Mum, Dad and Cara

See you soon
